Quick thoughts, if the high end d3 legends are soulbound, this would pretty much prevent any sort of trading at the end game, making obsolete the auction house substitutes such as d2jsp and forum gold. It also isn't like WoW where raids could be sold to for a chance to acquire certain items out of a loot table.
